From stock20in20, my theme of 'flowers', I won two of the ten themes!  Yay, me!  First one below won "back", second one won "peace":

May's theme for this contest is butterflies.

I again failed to finish my entry for hp20in20, will probably not sign up for this one again as I don't have enough time and it is really hard to find images to use!  I only got three done, my theme was Sirius/Remus and the category was 'one word'

It was really near impossible to find usable photos for this one!  Well, not without dumping serious time on each icon anyway!

Stock20in20 - Round 10 - Flowers
Blooming...Collapse )
02 April 2010 @ 12:30 pm

Have to start this post with a warning... I'm in a horrible, foul, no good mood.  I feel so invisible lately - no one responds to my texts, posts, calls or emails.  They are all out having a life... and I have none.  And I'm sick of having to pretend like I do and that everything is ok.  What's the point when no one is paying attention anyway?  BLAH.  I was really hoping this was all winter blues and would go away when better weather came... but spring has sprung and still.... BLAH.

Having said all that, this icon managed to squeek out a third place in 'category icons' stock20in20;

My 'sameness' set was soundly beaten by 5 rotational views of a yellow mug handle.  Really?  Really????  0_0

Anyway, you can see them all here if you are so inclined.  Or not, whatever...

Yeppers!  I got kicked of another LIMS - I have a special skill for it!

First one I submitted was this one:

I really quite dislike this one, but it was the best I could do with the supplied photo and I had to submit something, so....  Well it passed that round just fine.  Here's my second one (which got kicked off):

I really liked this one, so of course, no one else did! LOL!  I should know better than to enter a contest with an icon that I like...  anyway the majority of the comments were that the image was too over sharpened (which I found interesting as I didn't sharpen it at all) and too dark.  I put some light textures in her hair, which I thought gave it an interesting depth, but I guess it makes her hair look over-sharpened??  I sort of like the darker, richer colors, but all the others were overly light (more like my first one) - so I guess mine did look rather dark...
